Fine Art as a style of photography is most simply put, an expression of the photographers artistic vision. The photograph is merely a starting point and usually the photographer will be working to portray a specific idea, concept or message in the work. Fine art portraits go beyond capturing what is right in front of the camera to create a truly jaw dropping work of a art.

Lifestyle Photography
Lifestyle photography is a mixture of authentic and staged interactions. The aim is to allow for a more natural scene and to capture the moment as it unfolds in front of the camera. Lifestyle photographs are usually, but not always, lighter, brighter and more lightly retouched than Fine Art work.

Absolutely!! Safety of everyone involved is our top priority. Leashes and collars can be made to disappear through various techniques both during the photo shoot and in post editing.

Realistically speaking, the portrait session and collections available have a great deal of value packed inside them. Past clients have never said or suggested what Melanie offers is overpriced. In fact, most come back time and time again for more photographs!
Our Portrait Collections, including investment values, can be seen on the Sessions page. Full product guides can be requested prior to booking and most clients tend to invest between $560 and $1500 on their photographic session and artwork afterwards.

Absolutely! There is no reason why images captured at your portrait session cannot be entered into, and win, photographic awards.

Melanie has a small studio available for portrait session. This is located in Ballston Spa, NY.
For our equine friends, the situation is different. Usually, Melanie will travel to you unless you do not have an indoor arena, dark barn or similar on site.
